Years ago, Gale Coleman, a patient of Dr. Reginald Archibald, requested and received her medical records from the hospital but the photos were never released.
Coleman said that never receiving the photos “confirmed to me what I had suspected, which was that these pictures were not part of my medical file, they were not taken for medical reasons, they were taken for Dr. Archibald gratification.”
Archibald, who is now deceased, was a well-respected pediatric endocrinologist who saw thousands of children at Rockefeller University Hospital from the 1950s to the 1990s.
During that time, children, between the ages of 6 and 16, were undressed, photographed, fondled, instructed to perform sex acts, and in some cases, raped by Archibald.
Now, attorney James Marsh says it time for the University to address the abuse.
“Images have been found in the walls of pediatricians, have been found under the basements of former doctors and have been shared online by individuals who seek this kind of material,” Marsh said.
