Report on the Investigation of Dr. Reginald Archibald

In response to a report of sexual misconduct made last year against Dr. Reginald Archibald, a physician who studied childhood growth and maturation and worked at The Rockefeller University Hospital from the 1940s to the 1980s and died in 2007, the University retained external legal counsel, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, to conduct a full investigation. In the fall of 2018, the Hospital sent letters to as many of Dr. Archibald’s former patients as it could locate, asking them to share their experiences with Debevoise. Statements about the matter, including a letter to former patients mailed on May 22, also were posted on the Hospital’s public website at: http://www.rucares.org/ra-information. The University reported the matter to state and federal authorities.
