Through tears, the mother blasted the lenient sentence. “I am angry, I gave it to God, but it does still hurt inside,” she said. “I can’t believe the things that he did to my daughter. Justice was not served. I want him to go to jail.”
She said that her daughter, who was 11 years old at the time, “shut down” as a result of the sexual abuse that occurred multiple times.
The victim’s mother also blames the school, claiming they tried to cover up the incident. “There is no way they didn’t know,” she said.
The parents of at least one of the victims is suing Prowell and the Department of Education.
